We wanted a castle experience but didn't have time to get out of the city so this was a compromise, nice venue and staff very helpful and friendly. Very nice but a bit far our of the city for ease of access.

The best hotel on our travels

The Clontarf Castle hotel is well located and offers a very high standard of service. There is ample parking in the grounds of the "castle", the facilities are good, especially the restaurant and bars. There is good access via public transport to the centre of Dublin within about 5 minutes walk, or at the door if you wish to use a more circuitous bus route. Good value and highly recommended.

A Very Nice and unusual Hotel

The Hotel in the main was excellent,a blend of old and new which was on the inside seamless,we stayed for 5 nights and because of functions in the Hotel it was very busy and we had limited or No access to some areas and in fact the large Bar/Function room was hired throughout,Large screen Tv's were also on in the Bar constantly,a little off putting if you don't want Sport,I think if you want something a little different near Dublin it,s a good choice for a night or two but no more! Stunning Castle Hotel

Our room was a great size for the price and the bed was the comfiest I have slept in my whole trip so far. The room was lovely and warm and we were very comfortable. The only downfall was the shower leaked for about half an hour after using it, and our second night was host to some teenage affair where school aged teenages were talking and yelling extremely loud until 2am. Other than that a lovely hotel and those two minor things can be easily looked over.

Outstanding accommodation amidst an old (but refurbished castle). Dining options excellent (bar or restaurant). Little out of Dublin so OK if driving. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again.

We had a very relaxing, enjoyable

We had a very relaxing, enjoyable weekend in the hotel. Everything was done very efficiently without any fuss or bother. The staff could not have been friendlier. Having been in Dublin often but never to Clontarf we enjoyed the historic ambience of the hotel, the local walks by the bay and felt no need to go any further.

A great hotel with a fantastic

A great hotel with a fantastic design, a mix of old castle and very comtemporary style, with spacey bedrooms and the best beds I've slept in ! There are two restaurants, both are good but I prefer the more relaxed one (knights bar). The staff of the restaurants, bar, the concierge and the maids were all very helpful smiley and polite, the staff at the reception on the other hand wasn't the most cheerful lot, they were both really grumpy and althought not impolite it felt like we were disturbing them and they had better things to do then check us in... we were probably unlucky to have the only 2 grumpy ladies receptionist of the hotel ... The location is not central, but perfect if you don't want to be in the center of Dublin, it's only a 15€ ride from the airport (about 15-20mn) and there's a bus going to the center of Dublin.
