Supadio Airport is a small airport in Indonesia. Serviced flights go to destinations in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. The airport was first built in the 1940's as a small domestic facility. In the 2000's, Supadio became an international airport when it was opened to Singapore flights. There is a small duty free shop for departing travellers as well as a charming coffee shop. This transit hub is located in the city of Pontianak, which is the capital of the province of West Kalimantan, an area located on the island of Borneo. The city is known as Equator City because it is less than two miles south of the equator.
- Take a boat ride down the Sungai Kapuas, which divides Pontianak in two, and if you go between 5 PM and 6 PM, you can witness the bathing rituals of the locals.
- Visit the Equatorial Obelisk, located near Supadio Airport, which is built directly on the equator in Pontianak, and the English speaking staff will give you interesting facts about both the equator and the city.
- Explore the Kebun Binatang Pontianak or Pontianak Zoo and see animals that are native to Indonesia and beyond.

If you choose to drive, remember that traffic can be heavy. Most car hires come in the form of minivans. Some hotels will also provide shuttle service to and from the airport. There are buses in Pontianak, but they are mainly for locals coming and going to work, and are quite crowded.
