Not What We Expected

The price is value for money but the hotel room is dirty. Moulds on the bathroom and mugs are very dirty. Toiletries are incomplete. We are very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Though the spa massage was excellent.

Enjoyable family holiday

We stayed for 4 nights with my 2 children 13 and 11, from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcomed. We arrived very late at night and when we went to our rooms we needed to change as both rooms had king beds and having a boy and girl they didn't want to sleep in the same bed, the front desk happily changed us to another room. All staff from the restaurant to the gardeners to the guy who gave us pool towels were always happy smiling and very helpful. We stayed here 2 years ago and it seems they are doing some upgrades, we now had free wifi in our rooms and throughout the hotel area as last time it was just in the lobby. And they are remodelling the suites. The furniture in our room was looking a bit old and tired but it didn't bother us we don't go on holiday to stay in our room, the beds were comfortable, we had plenty of room, the bathroom was clean and had a large bath and separate shower, we had a safe in our room a fridge and tea or coffee making facilities plenty of tv stations to choose from when we did stay in our room. Outside the hotel there are heaps of choices for places to eat and they are just as cheap if not cheaper than going into Kuta same with having massages the prices are about the same as other areas so people that say staying in the nusa dua area is expensive is not true the only thing more expensive is catching a taxi into Kuta but if you grab one off the street we paid around 80,000 rupiah you have to negotiate, but there's nothing in Kuta that you can't get in the Nusa Dua area. I would highly recommend this place for a family holiday or if you want a relaxing break.

Relaxing, friendly holiday environment

From the time we were welcomed at the entrance to the hotel, we felt like we were in another world. The staff were friendly, explained the amenities and took care of getting us to our room in a timely manner. The pool was fantastic - in need of a bit of TLC in some areas, but overall just a beautiful place to spend the day. The beach was right there if you wanted to swim in the ocean surf and it was as warm as the pool! The 1/2 price drinks at 3 pm boosted many spirits and you could sit in the pool bar and enjoy a beer or head over to the "By the C" to be pampered by the staff at that outdoor café. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING! We fell in love with the variety of fruit in Bali - served every day at the buffet - snakeskin fruit, lychee, dragon fruit, apples, oranges, papaya, guava, you name it, it was probably there. And the tiny, wee pineapples and pineapple/bananas were so sweet and luscious. Then there were pancakes, waffles, eggs made your way, bacon, sausages, Indonesian food and sushi. You could basically eat there all morning if you chose! The staff - wow - particularly Suriati who served us each morning with pots of hot steaming coffee. You only had to tell her your name once, and she remembered the whole time you were there. The hotel was located within walking distance of a mini mart where you could find great souvenirs bargains and incidentals. As well, hoards of restaurants to try out at very very good prices. We often had dinner for two including drinks for $25-30.00 NZ. The only downside we had was that we had paid for an upgrade to an ocean view room and we didn't get one. In fact - we could only see the ocean when we leaned out over the balcony, but that's not the hotel's fault - we will take that up with our travel company.Overall, a wonderful relaxing holiday and I can't wait to return - particularly to this hotel.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Find a driver that speaks good English and negotiate a price for a day tour or 1/2 day tour - usually around $40-50 for 1/2 day - up to $80 - $100 for a full day (meaning 12 hours!. They will come with driver and tour guide to spend the day with you in an air conditioned vehicle to show you the real Bali.

Nice hotel

We enjoyed our stay. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The timber floor had suffered a bit of wear and tear. Breakfast was included, however the food was not the best we had had and it was hard to get service. Staff in the other areas of the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Good location away from the Busy Kuta area

The hotel is looking a bit tired now and needs a bit of sprucing up - but not in bad condition. The staff were very good. The food is ok - breakfast was just average and the dining areas ok but nothing special (although the prices were quite good for a hotel). There are plenty of local restaurants within easy walking distance. perfectly located for water sports Overall we enjoyed our time there. If you can get a good price then it is worth considering
