Accommodation was excellent

Happy with almost everything. We complained regarding the hairdressing salon, a man who was most uncooperative. Would have preferred buffet breakfast for the American choice at the Mall, and at dinner needed to return the steak that evening as it was very tough. We were not aware of the 4th floor dining room until the last night unfortunately We had the buffet dinner there which was great and the staff most obliging. A big thank you to them.

Great location

Great value for money for such a location near the harbour and close to everything. Good breakfast with views. Unexpected basket of fruits on arrival. I booked last minute for 2 nights to break my long journey from Sorrento (Italy) to home at Sydney.

Nothing Pretentious

Down to earth good quality accommodation with excellent harbour views. We were upgraded to full harbour views from partial. Well worth the extra money. Efficient and polite check-in staff. The location is just perfect. We had a late flight out and was able to use the YMCA's shower facilities after check-out. Must try, Tsim Chai Kee noodles in Wellington Street, Central for the best wantons and noodles and Canton's Dim Sum Expert in Humphreys Avenue, TSS, walking distance from hotel for breakfast/lunch (open at 8 am).

3 night stop over

This is a very comfortable, no frills hotel in a great location. We booked a harbor view room which was definitely worth the money. The room was clean with everything you need and the free wifi worked very well. We used the swimming pool (which is part of the ymca general sports club) and also ate breakfast at the hotel which provided a very good selection to choose from. Would not hesitate to book this hotel next time in Hong Kong.

A very pleasant stay.

As with the vast majority of Hong Kong hotel rooms, mine was a little small but always clean and tidy when I returned. The staff in all areas were very bright and cheerful with a Good Morning etc. For me the location was nothing short of perfect. I had a very short walk to my favourite bar along with a good variety of restaurants. Check-in/out staff explained everything well, which has not always happened at other places. Transport to/from airport was very close indeed. Overall I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone who asked.

Fantastic Location

My second stay at the Y. Fantastic location right next to The Peninsula and two MTR lines, the Star Ferry Terminal and the 8pm nightly laser/light show on the harbour. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

To save time and money, catch the MTR from the airport to Kowloon Stn and then the free airport transfer coach to The Peninsula - the Y is directly across the road.

The Best!

The Salibury Hotel YMCA location is spot on - right next to the Peninsula Hotel on the beginning of Salibury Road, a few steps from the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry stop. I loved everything about the hotel: the rooms and bathrooms (we had two rooms) were both totally renovated and as good as new the breakfast buffet, (included in my fare), was sumptuous, including many East, West and healthy choices the hotel staff were most helpful and pleasant the amenities are unbeatable - with free Wifi (which worked a cinch) huge indoor pool, gym, children's playground, chapel/meditation room, bookshop, hairdressing salon, computer station, and outdoor deck. One of our rooms had a great view of the harbour, where we can see the ferries coming to and from the Star Ferry, and the evening light show across on HK Island. This is a totally delightful hotel, where I'm sure I spent a third of what the patrons at the adjacent more expensive hotels did. It is so convenient, with the MTR subway and the gzillion shops and restaurants on Nathan Road just around the corner! Would certainly recommend this hotel to all people, especially singles and families! Thanks to all the staff!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Use the MTR, it'll take you EVERYWHERE! The Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry too, is great for taking you across the harbour to the HK side and from there to the Islands. Try the buses too, for a view of the city from the street level.
