Dining

Tao Li
Tao Li is renowned among Hong Kong's discreet set as one of the territory's finest Chinese restaurants, having been conferred a Best of the Best Culinary Award by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. This celebrated establishment offers an elegant selection of Cantonese fare and dim sum that includes both traditional favourties and original creations. Seating a total of 180, the restaurant has five private rooms, of which four can be adjoined into a large function room for family or corporate gatherings.
La Table
Modelled on a classic French restaurant, La Table offers European-style gourmet cuisine in the manner of the latest Continental dining trends. Guests select their first course from a splendid buffet of hors d'oeuvres ; for entree, there is an a la carte menu boasting an extensive selection of gastronomic delights.
Lobby Lounge
For exotic drinks and easy relaxation, look no further than New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel's Lobby Lounge. A convivial atmosphere reigns in this chic, elevated space, fashioned in a delicate cross-over of Art Deco and original styles. Sweeping glass panels, cosy armchairs and plump sofas, all bathed in beautiful sunshine by day and soft purple lighting by night, make the Lobby Lounge a singularly wonderful place to unwind over a light meal, refreshment or dessert by one of our award-winning pastry chefs.
Cafe East
Variety and value are the order of the day at Cafe East, one of Hotel most popular dining outlets. Combining the best of western and regional Asian dishes in a comprehensive a la carte menu, this refreshingly casual-style eatery - looking out on Victoria Harbour on the one side and the hotel's atrium lobby on the other - also serves a lavish buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a delightful selection of snacks from afternoon to late evening.
Sagano
Taking its name and inspiration from a famous suburb of Kyoto, Japan's ancient heartland, Sagano offers authentic Japanese specialties from sushi and tempura to teppanyaki and kaiseki. It is also a favourite haunt of many Japanese residents in Hong Kong as well as Japanese guests at Hotel Nikko. Particularly noteworthy are the eatery's three tatami rooms with traditional bamboo flooring, two of which can be opened up to create a larger space for up to 16 persons. Here, dining is no longer just about food, it's a wholly cultural experience. Indeed, the restaurant's appeal lies not only in its superb culinary offerings, but equally in its exquisitely simple ambience reflecting the quiet dignity, beauty and serenity of the original Sagano.
Bar on 15
The Bar on 15 on the hotel's top floor welcomes guests for cocktails and 'cool inspiration' with a royal box view of the famous night-lights of Hong Kong. A clubroom elegance pervades this area and the ambience is relaxed and friendly, with upbeat modern music playing softly in the background.

Our 1 night stay on Kowloon

We decided to stay for 1 night on Kowloon after staying for 10 nights on Hong Kong Island in the Four Seasons. You can't get any better than the Four Seasons and unfortunately it meant that we had high expectations of Hotel Nikko. We booked a premier Harbour View room on a non-smoking floor. The first room we checked into (1019) stank of smoke, then the second room 9021 the same and finally were moved to 1025 which was fine. All were on non-smoking floors but unfortunately guests before us obviously didn't adhere to the rules and regs. Unfortunate for Hotel Nikko. Beds are sooooo hard. Not our cup of tea at all. Felt a little like sleeping on a table; which obviously suits some. A good location for a promenade walk and 15 minutes walking distance from Harbour City and the Ferry terminals. We paid $250 AUD for 1 night, which is a great price for a 5-star hotel in a good location.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Just near Prince Edward MTR is a lovely little unassuming restaurant called 'One Dim Sum'. Superb Dim Sum. It doesn't look anything special and only seats around 40, but food was great and very cheap. My husband and I had a very filling meal for around $25 AUD.

Great value & hotel

The HK hotel star system actually has 7 stars, so I would consider this to be a "5 star". My parents also stayed here and found it to be fantastic value. Rooms are large for HK standards, and clean. I'd stay here if I needed to hotel in HK again. Plus, they have cribs available for little ones. They came up to set the crib up and everything. This was great, because during a couple of afternoons, my sister's kids came over to nap. No extra charge.

Nice view n location

I spent my new year eve here, in a harborview room. Not like any other years before, this year's firework focused on the convention centre, which is visible from our room. Lucky us! Cause we cant see ifc tower from the room. Room is not as small as anyother hk hotel, bathroom is large, with separated bathtub and shower.

COMFORTABLE

Comfortable hotel, a long-ish walk from Nathan Road, but not too far. Many rooms have harbour view. Nice top floor bar with excellent view. Staff could be more friendly in explaining late check-out policy, which privilege only applies to direct bookings with the hotel.

Take your time to stroll hrough to Nathan Road. The local area around the hotel is more for local business, not travellers, though there are a few nice bars.

I found the Nikko to be targeted

I found the Nikko to be targeted to business travel with hotel amenities based around them. This is not a negative but if travelling with little kids there are probably better options. Having said this I was on holidays with my teenage son and wife and we found the Nikko to be very suitable. We stayed in a Nikko Floor room and for the 3 of us it was better value than a regular room. Some comment has been made regarding the location and whilst it is not in the middle of the shopping district you can walk there in 10-15 mins. The science museum, space museum and other attractions are only 5-10 mins away. I will certainly use the hotel again.
