The Pasing district in western Munich is a transportation hub and shopping destination. Primarily a residential area and, in fact, home to some of the best housing development projects in the city, Pasing also boasts several green spaces for leisure and recreation. The district is crossed by jogging trails, cycle paths, and the river Würm and is the gateway from the city centre to the surrounding Bavarian Alps. The Pasing railway station, which serves S-Bahn lines as well as other domestic and international trains, makes it easy to get to attractions in the city and far-flung destinations.
- Spend the day exploring the Pasing St. Mary Square (Pasinger Marienplatz) and its surrounding selection of shops, boutiques, restaurants and hotels, and is a favourite hangout for Munich residents and visitors.
- Head over to the verdant Pasing City Park (Pasinger Stadtpark), found in the southern section of the district and by the river Würm, which the main park for fun and recreation in this Munich district.
- Visit Pasing Arcaden, the district's multi-functional commercial and residential centre, which offers loads of retail and leisure opportunities set in a vibrant and colourful environment.
The Pasing district lies in western Munich and is well served by the city's comprehensive and convenient S-Bahn suburban rail network. S-Bahn trains S4, S5, S6, S8, and S20 frequently pass through Pasing Station, as do domestic and international trains on their way to Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). The station is also a stop on several local bus routes, and in addition, the tram service line 19 terminates here. If driving, the motorways A99 and A96 have exits for the district. Munich Airport is about 35 kilometres away.
