Munich’s International Airport, called Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, is the second largest airport in Germany next to Frankfurt’s. The city’s S-Bahn and U-Bahn underground railway, trams and buses service the inner city. Meanwhile, Munich Hauptbahnhof is the main railway station in the city’s centre, whilst Pasing and Ostbahnhof stations respectively serve the western and eastern parts of the city. All three stations are connected to the public transportation system, serving as transportation hubs. Tourists can reach Olympiapark and its surrounding area by travelling on the U3 direct underground, the S1, or tramlines 12, 20, 21 and 27. The park can also be reached from the Mittleren Ring motorway.
