People who are looking to party whilst in Munich must pay a visit to Kultfabrik, as this district is known as one of the central party zones in Europe. Kultfabrik, which was previously called “Kunstpark Ost,” is a massive recreational centre that was built on the site of a former factory. The construction of Kultfabrik took place in the mid-1990s, as Munich was looking for ways to liven up some of its industrial zones. Now Kultfabrik features more than fifty different clubs, discos, bars, and concert halls that host some of the best live music in the city.
- Head to Tonhalle in Kultfabrik for a live music show, and enjoy some of the hottest new pop bands in all of Munich as they try to make a name for themselves.
- Pay a visit to Heavens Gate and challenge yourself on one of the highest indoor climbing walls in all of Europe, one of many entertainment options at Kultfabrik.
- Go to the Canteen late night for snacks like burgers and fries, gyros, and wood fired pizzas that make a perfect ending to a long night of drinking and dancing in Munich.
The first thing people need to know about Kultfabrik is that the clubs stay open much later than the public transportation, so you need to plan ahead and save some money for taxi fare at the end of the night. Munich has a great system of public transportation that makes it easy to get to Kultfabrik. You can take the S-Bahn or the U-Bahn to the Ostbahnhof station, which is one of the central transport hubs in Munich and just a short walk away from Kultfabrik. Once there you can bounce around from club to club on foot.
