Hadern is a borough located on the south side of Munich, Germany, and this quiet, pleasant area is an ideal place to stay for travellers visiting this interesting and historical city. Hadern is within close proximity to most Munich attractions and features unique, attractive surroundings. Visitors may walk through Groβhadern, the oldest section of the town to explore the remnants from Hardern's original 19th century farming community, or tour the Waldfriedhof, the largest cemetery in Munich. Whilst enjoying the area, stop for a cold beer at the Waldheim beer garden or a traditional, hearty German meal at the Gaststätte Fϋrstenegger.
- If visiting Munich in May, be sure to attend the exciting Hadern Village Festival; this local folk celebration features live entertainment such as bands and cabaret acts.
- Munich is famous for its beer gardens, which feature a jovial atmosphere and fine Bavarian beer; the Erdinger Weiβbiergarten is a great place to enjoy a cold one and a traditional soft pretzel.
- Take in a live performance at the Heiglhof Theatre; the talented cast is sure to impress, with one of their outstanding productions such as Arsenic and Old Lace.
Travellers will find it fairly easy to get to Hadern from central Munich. The U-Bahn metro train operates a southbound route on the U6 line that will take passengers to Haderner Stern and Groβhadern station. Another option is to take a public bus; routes 51 and 54 will take riders to the Waldfriedhof station, and the number 56 will take them to the same stations as the U6 metro. For travellers that choose to rent a car, it is best to take the main expressways, the E54 and E533, which exit into Hadern.
