Bavarian National Museum is one of the largest cultural history museums in Europe. The museum is a physical representation of both the culture and history of Germany. It was founded by the Bavarian King Maximillian II in the year 1855. The Bavarian National Museum in Munich houses various different art collections. These collections include ceramics, porcelain, and religious Gothic art. It also houses various types of artefacts such as sculptures of the 18th century, textiles, fork art and armour. Although the contents of the museum are more focused on the Bavarian culture, it houses art works of worldwide importance.

Bavarian National Museum is located in Prinzregenstestrasse. You can access the iconic Munich museum by either bus or tram from any location within the city. If you are new in the city, the bus to take is bus number 100 hundred. It will drop you at walking distance to the museum. Alternatively, if you arrive inform the airport, taking a taxi direct to the museum will save you the hassle of searching for the bus bay. The museum is usually in operation the whole week from 10 am to about 5 pm depending on the day.
