Rahlstedt is a district of Hamburg, Germany located in the Wandsbek borough on the northeastern side of the city. Rahlstedt has been continuously inhabited since the 13th century when it was part of the Danish crown and, today, features scores of ancient buildings paying tribute to this region’s storied history. Since becoming part of Hamburg in the mid-19th century, Rahlstedt was linked to the city by a railroad that helped speed up its development, ultimately making it one of the most populated parts in the entire city. World-famous Old Rahlstedt is located in the centre of the quarter and contains a concentration of medieval structures.
