Not being in the most 'popular' part of Paris (large social housing across road) it doesn't have the huge tariffs one would expect of a similar standard hotel closer the the centre of town. However, the location is still quite pleasant and safe
and with bus and Metro stations right outside, you can be anywhere in Paris in a few minutes. So - location tops!
There hotel itself is very old with smallish rooms (part of the Paris 'charm' for us) but has been recently completely renovated in 'cinemateque' style with all modern conveniences including a small but modern bathroom, air conditioning etc. An excellent breakfast in a modern dining area is available downstairs. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.
Our primary requirements are a comfortable, clean and friendly environment, close to good transport - some where to "put the head down' after a day of "tourism". We will be staying there again next weekend on our way back from the south of France and are very much looking forward to our return visit.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Watch out for "fake" taxi drivers. We are aware of them them but were completely conned by a driver in a real taxi. Were told it would cost 45 Euro to our hotel (outrageous) because of "all our baggage" Having travelled 23 hours by air from Australia and first time in France we were in no mood to argue as there were no other taxis available at the time. THE SAME trip back from the hotel cost 10 EUROS! We'll be more cautious next time.
