Musee Massena hotels
The beautiful Musee Massena was built in 1901 by Andree Massena who then gave it to the city of Nice in 1917. The city turned it into a museum of regional history. The museum was closed for nine years of renovations, reopening n 2008. The refurbished Italianate neoclassical museum does not disappoint. From its lush gardens to the story of the region’s history up to the present day, all is told in chronological order starting on the first floor and continuing above. Everything is all contained in this gem of a museum across from the Mediterranean Sea.

The Musee Massena is located on the Promenade des Anglais in full view of the Mediterranean. Public transportation consists of both buses and trams. In Nice, the bus line is called Lignes d'Azur and its routes criss-cross with the TAM (Transport Alps-Maritimes), which is the bus system that connects all the small towns of the Côte d'Azur. If you buy a ticket from the airport, you will receive a pass for the city buses. Most places, including the Musee Massena, are located in the centre of the city and can be reached on foot. Car hire is not recommended.
