Katajanokka, famed for its amazing Art Nouveau architecture, is worth visiting for those keen on orthodox architecture, good food, and enjoying amazing scenery not found elsewhere. Visitors will see scores of buildings of Jugendstil, or Art Nouveau architecture, in this area, as well as the amazing works of Alexy Gornostaev and Alvar Aalto. If you were to go towards the south of Katajanokka, you can enjoy lovely harbour views and watch cruise ships as they make their journey towards Helsinki.

The city centre of Helsinki is 20 kilometres away from Finland's top international airport. Taking a taxi to Katajanokka from the airport is the easiest, but most expensive option. Unless visitors are travelling with a large group, taking a tram, bus, or train into the city is the best choice. For example, visitors can take bus number 615 from the airport and reach the city centre within 35 minutes. From the city centre, take tram number 4T or 4 to reach the Katajanokka Terminal. Many major attractions are located just a short walk from the terminal.
