Almost PERFECT!

We stayed in 3 hotel/resort during our stay in Fiji, Sheraton Fiji, Malolo Island Resort and Mana Island Resort. Mana Island Resort is the best one. We absolutely love the atmosphere of the Mana Island Resort, the staffs are very friendly and helpful. You can see a smiling face everywhere and "bula" to you everywhere, it made you feel you are really welcome to the resort. The Island Bure is inside the garden which is really beautiful and comfortable. The beach is also more beautiful than Malolo Island. The only problem is the food, we are not really love as it has few choices. However, i must say, I absolutely will come back if I Traveling to Fiji.

Beautiful beaches

Beaches and sea life here is amazing. If you love water sports then this island is fantastic for you. The beach has white soft sand, the sea has beautiful corals and fishes not too far from shore. Beach Bures outdoor showers are pleasant, but no TV, in room wifi and the linen and towels don't look particularly white clean probably due to the availability of only rain water. Seafood at the South beach restaurant is fantastic. Breakfast Buffet average. The view from the Adult pool is spectacular. Cocktails are meh, probably since they use cheap alcohol. It's Sea turtle sanctuary is a great idea.

OK but overrated

Great if you have a golf buggy! If not, be prepared to do lots of walking. It's on a good location between Nth and Sth beach. Staff are great! My room was good but had a patched up ceiling that wasn't finished with paint. As with most resorts in Fiji, food and drinks are expensive. The adult pool area is nice.

Nice family holiday experience.

Staff are very friendly and relaxed, accomodation was nice but getting a bit tired and need refurbish. Plenty of food but average quality and table service was slow. Location, pools, and beaches were great, very relaxing location. Loved Fijian people on the island. Plenty of activities enjoyable time. Might try other island next time though.

Mana has become Kiddies Kingdom and a Couples Curse

WARNING! Mana was once a lovely peaceful paradise at around 50% occupancy outside the school holidays but times have changed. There are now noisy little primary and pre-school kids running all around the resort like ants at a picnic and it is fully booked throughout the entire winter season. There were a hand full couples on the island and every one of them vowed never to return. Now that you know what to expect at Mana, here is my useful list of DOs and DONTs. DON’T go to Mana if you are a couple or honeymooners seeking piece and quiet DO go to Mana if you have little kids because kids under 12 stay and eat free! DON’T expect your reservation to be exactly what you arranged. DO take copies of all receipts and correspondence to confirm what you have paid for and particularly any resort credit or bonuses that have been included. DON’T drink the tap water or eat any shellfish if you want to avoid diarrhoea and stomach problems. DO drink bottled water or boiled tap water and definitely bring Lomotil diarrhoea tablets because someone in your group will need them! DON’T bring any jeans, winter jackets or smart clothing as you won’t need them DO bring your swimmers, rash shirts, thongs, singlets, T-shirts, shorts, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen because you will use them every day. DON’T bring your beach and bath towels, insect repellent, fly spray, umbrellas, snorkelling gear, soaps or shampoos as these are all supplied by the resort. DO buy your beer, wine and chips in Nadi as the resort drinks and snacks are relatively expensive. DON’T commit to the rather expensive full or half board meal plans every day as you will get sick of them very quickly. (You can purchase any buffet meal as required) DO treat yourself to the wonderful full buffet breakfast daily and if you get hungry later eat lunch or dinner at the back packers instead for cheaper, better meals. DON’T expect to enjoy a quiet swim or relax by the pool during the day because the pool area is totally overrun by screaming kids. DO swim, snorkel and relax at Mana’s beautiful beaches instead DON’T expect to swim or snorkel during low tide at North Beach as there is no water over the reef. (You can swim and snorkel at South Beach instead) DO plan your holiday during a week when high tide occurs during the middle of the day if you want good snorkelling every day. DON’T do the same old thing every day. There is so much to do at Mana. DO take a daily walk to one of the lookouts, Sunset Beach or the local village and take advantage of the adult and children’s activities program every day. DON’T expect the adult entertainment/activities program to be restricted to just adults as kids rule here 24/7. DO take advantage of the Mana Kid’s Club program and child minding service if you have young kids and enjoy some time to yourself. DON’T pay an exotic F$150 at the Mana Spa for an ordinary 1 hour full body massage. DO go to the local village instead and get a 1 hour massage for just F$40 or under F$30 on the mainland.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take the all day Seaspray cruise to Modriki and other islands and enjoy the unlimited champagne, beer, wine and meat/seafood BBQ but dont take the kids! Leave them at kids club or with the excellent child minding service for the day.

The snorkelling is excellent along

The snorkelling is excellent along the drop-offs at North Beach and Sunset Beach. As well as thousands of small fish we saw reef sharks, spotted eagle rays, a school of 1m long barracuda and a turtle.

Staff pleasant only stayed 2 nights.

Staff pleasant only stayed 2 nights. Only problem was the one a la carte restaurant needed to be booked at least 2 days ahead. the other alternative was the buffet which are not always really hot in Fiji. Overall Island good but some facilities needed maintance.
