beautiful resort

We had a great time at this resort. It was beautiful and peaceful. True paradise, with the friendliest staff. lots of fun things for kids and adults. The only thing was it was quite expensive for some food and as there is nothing else around you had no choice but to eat there. Also, it took over 2 hours to get to the port and the airport. So maybe it is better suited to people who would like to just stay at the resort. But it truly was amazing and we loved it here!

Good during Low Season, Great Snorkeling

The Warwick is about 2.5hs from Nadi Airport via public bus transport (US$5pp) or about 2hrs if you hire the private car transfer (US$80). Check-in was great with a cool welcome drink. Staff were friendly and courteous. Snorkeling is amazing, just 100m from the beach you will be surrounded by schools of fish. We lucked out as it was low season (early Dec) and we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves. Staff mentioned that at Xmas or during the high season, you couldn't find a seat anywhere at the beach, pool or bar. That would probably have changed my experience. I have been to numerous islands all over the world and understand the humidity issues, however the air-conditioning is particularly weak at the Warwick, it never gets cool in the room, the air always feels stifling, and by the second morning all your magazines and papers would be curled at the edges from humidity. In general, restaurant food was only OK. Avoid the Italian restaurant (esp the pizzas), and the Japanese restaurant was not authentic although the staff were amazing. I have the impression that they use the same ingredients all over the hotel, but just served in different ways and with different sauces. For example, the fish skewers I had for lunch by the pool side, were exactly the same skewers I had at the Japanese dinner, just smothered in teriyaki sauce. I think a creative and interested head chef would not have proposed this strategy. Definitely dine at the Wicked Walu one evening at least. DO NOT PURCHASE the Food Vouchers. The receptionist told me that the vouchers could be used at the buffet restaurant for lunch and dinner, and that these meals would cost more if purchased separately. Firstly, there was no buffet lunch and one had to order from the a la carte menu at the poolside restaurant. Secondly, the dinner buffet had a disappointing spread that you would not have chosen to eat at anyway. The Food Vouchers could be used as a credit towards your bill if you decided to eat at the non-buffet restaurant, but then they short change you. For example, a Food Voucher for which you paid F$100 would be worth F$32 for lunch and F$50 for dinner. Huh? I went back to clarify the situation at the receptionist and she changed my dinner voucher to F$68, the two now totaling F$100. So what's the use of pre-purchasing vouchers if you get F$100 credit for paying F$100 cash? Especially since one would be hard pressed to eat F$32 worth of food at the poolside lunch. So the point is, the Food Vouchers are badly administered. Guests have nothing to gain from these, so why lock yourself into spending F$100pp per day when in reality you would eat for less than that. Also, the vouchers cannot be used to pay for drinks. On the return trip to the airport, beware the public bus schedule. We got to the bus stop (right outside the hotel) 45minutes before the first scheduled departure of the day and the bus arrived! Apparently the buses arrive +/-60 minutes from the scheduled time, so plan for this! All in all, a great holiday at a great location. We lucked out with the low occupancy and great weather, so the food vouchers were but a minor irritation.

Absolutely beautiful resort. The

Absolutely beautiful resort. The people were always so welcoming and happy. We would do the meal package next time though, as the food and drinks were very expensive. A bit disappointed that you had to pay to have a spa, though the sea was just as warm and lovely. Loved lounging around the pool, swimming and just completely relaxing. It was good to venture out of the resort and see a real life village and school. Vinaka to the staff at the Warwick, I love Fiji xx

Interesting beautiful holiday

Interesting beautiful holiday destination. Staff were very friendly and relaxed giving a good holiday atmosphere. Mini golf could do with an upgrade. Activities and shows were good fun. Pitty the seafood restaurant ran out of lobster the night we went! Thanks for a great break.

Was a nice resort - but is a long

Was a nice resort - but is a long way from the airport - they say 90 mins - but we never did it in less than 2 hours. The booked transportation from the airport did not turn up, and the return trip was arrived at hotel 30 mins late. The seafood restaurant and Teppanyaki restaurant were exceptional; the Italian restaurant was good; the buffet was overpriced and disappointing; the a la carte Japanese was dreadful. The Reception staff were unhelpful and surly. Some of the waiting staff were good. The room was great and very clean. The pools great. Excellent entertainment.
