Hotel with Period Charm

The Hotel was adequate for our needs, which we booked with a RatesToGo discount. As we all know, Copenhagen is quite expensive. The 24-hour reception was appreciated, as we didn't arrive until late in the evening & had a few late nights. The bathroom was a little small, however the room itself was sufficient for a couple (but no bar fridge). The location is good (easy walking distance from the main train station) and we recommend hiring the Hotel's bikes, as this is the 'native' way of exploring Copenhagen.

Location is excellent

We stayed for 4 nights in Sept '13 and found the location was excellent, only ten mins from the Central Station and an easy walk to the hotel. The reception staff are pleasant and helpful, rooms are fine if a little small and if facing the main street could be noisy. It wasn't a problem for us as we generally slept soundly after each busy day. Tivoli gardens are close by and the main shopping street Stroget is also nearby. It is a long walk to the little mermaid from the hotel but enjoyable nevertheless. A canal tour is a good idea and is not expensive by Copenhagen standards - we found eating out to be quite expensive and breakfast in the hotel is expensive too and not really worth it, (in our case it converted to 17euro each) Overall if we were to be in Copenhagen again we would choose this hotel as its location is just perfect.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Central station is very close to the hotel which is great if you want to use the train to go on a trip out of the city. We used a taxi the night we arrived but we need not have, we only took a taxi as it was late when we got in from the airport.

Cosy and Good Location

Comfortable to stay. Location is wonderful. A few minutes walk from Tivoli park. The room is rather small but cosy. The bath is old style but enough. The stuff was very kind and helpful.

Comfortable location to stay

The hotel is peaceful, comfortable and has all basic amenities. The location is just 5 min from copenhagen central station, visitor's centre, city hall, shopping street, and Tivoli gardens. The danish furniture gives it good look, but rooms are small for the price paid. I recommend, but if you are pure vegetarian - the copenhagen central station is best spot to dine!

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Working time is very short in copenhagen - 10 am to 4 pm & extra one hour on sundays. It is possible to see 2-3 attractions in one day. copenhagen card cover all local travel & 65 attractions and is cost saver and can be bought at hotel, railway station or visitor centre.

From the moment I entered through

From the moment I entered through the hotel doors, I felt looked-after, I felt special. The person at the front desk was helpful above and beyond the call of duty! As were all the "front-desk" people! The location of the hotel is PERFECT for experiencing Copenhagen: central in the city, close to the train-station, close to major shopping streets and restaurants. And, as advertised, it is truly a shop-front for great Danish design. I have one complaint: the drainage of water in the shower was almost non-existant - I had to stop showering, as the water was bleeding over the edge of containment, and onto the floor of the washroom!
