Located south of the Prague city centre, Nusle was formerly a land of vineyards and winehouses. The area’s heritage carries over to modern society with many quality microbreweries and brewpubs within Nusle. Most land traffic from the south crosses the Nusle Bridge to get into Prague. The bridge is a towering six-lane highway spanning the valley with metro line C running inside it. Though Nusle is not on the traditional tourist path, there are several interesting landmarks in the village including monuments to local World War II heroes and as with most attractions here, whatever you see will be fine because Prague is an excellent city.
- Honour the brewing heritage of the area by visiting local brewpubs like Zlý Časy, but do not leave town before paying homage to the Nusle Brewery, founded in 1694.
- View the buildings and landmarks surrounding Náměstí Bratři Synků, the central square of Nusle named after Prague-native World War II resistance members, including Nusle Town Hall and a statue of St. Wenceslas.
- Take the Nusle Steps from Vinohrady, south of Prague’s city centre, to Nusle which offer a grand entrance and beautiful views of the valley village.
Several of Prague’s tram lines connect travellers to Nusle. The tram stop is also a stop for local buses. In addition, this valley suburb is about a twenty minute walk from Prague city centre via the Nusle Steps near Vinohrady. The Vršovice Railway Station divides Nusle from Prague and the ride to the city centre takes only a few minutes. Airport transfers, local buses and taxis are available to take travellers the 16 kilometres between Nusle and Prague’s International Airport. Once in Nusle, it is convenient to walk to the various attractions.
