Nove Mesto hotels
A city of romance still aglow with an aura of Bohemian and Moravian culture, Prague is the crowning glory of the Czech Republic. Socially and architecturally, NoveMesto is this city’s youngest district. It is set apart with its modernist buildings and public art, and has a significant history in the city’s social movements and protests. Many museums and galleries explore the contemporary aspects of the citizens’ identity, as well as that of the Czech Republic as a whole. Indie music scenes, jazzy cocktail joints, and creative Czech cuisine spice up the atmosphere of NoveMesto.
- At Wenceslas Square step into the heart of NoveMesto, and discover fine dining, learn about the city’s civil movements at the memorials to Jan Palach and Jan Zajic, and view the city’s inspiring statue of St. Wenceslas.
- Explore unparalleled collections of classical archaeological artefacts, natural history, and Slavic ethnography at Prague’s neo-Renaissance style National Museum in the centre of the district.
- View the unique deconstructivist architecture of Prague’s famous 20th century Dancing House, which stands out dramatically against the classical architecture of NoveMesto’s older historic buildings.
Due to NoveMesto’s downtown location, there are many options of public transportation available. KarlovoNamesti is a central park serviced by a metro station of the same name, which you can get to on the Line B subway. This will place you in a convenient location from where to start your Prague adventure. Wenceslas Square is in the eastern part of NoveMesto. Metro routes A and C stop at the Museum, with a train station located steps away. Many trams operate throughout the district, and several which take you across the river to the west end.
