Loreta is a large church and pilgrimage destination located in the Hradcany district of Prague, Czech Republic. Loreta includes a Holy Hut, cloister, Church of the Lord’s Birth, and a clock tower that is known for its unique chime. Construction on Loreta began in the early 17th century, and since there have been many additions and renovations from famous architects such as Christoph Dientzenhofer and Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer, who designed the Baroque style Face Wall in the 18th century. Loreta remains an important pilgrimage site for locals, as well as an historic monument.

- Walk through the entrance to Loreta on the turning of the hour and you will be treated to the ringing of the 27-bell carillon that has been alerting locals for hundreds of years.
Prague has a sophisticated and efficient network of public transportation, so getting to Loreta is easy from just about anywhere in the city. The easiest way to get there is to take Line A of the Metro to the Malostranska station. From there you can catch a tram that will take you the remainder of the distance to Loreta via the Pohorelec station, just a short walk away. The grounds of Loreta are great for exploring on foot, so you can see the Holy Hut and other historic buildings up close and admire their intricate design.
