Lennon Wall hotels
The Lennon Wall in Prague, Czech Republic is named after John Lennon, the iconic singer from the Beatles, who was an inspiration for young people in Prague during the Velvet Revolution. What started as a tribute to the slain singer quickly became a place for people to air their grievances against the communist government with graffiti and lyrics from Lennon’s songs. The wall is covered with murals depicting John Lennon, along with graffiti expressing his message of peace and love that was important to the pacifist movements in central Europe. The wall still remains covered in graffiti and political messages.
- Bring a can of spray paint to the Lennon Wall and add your own message of peace and tolerance to this iconic Prague monument.
- Walk the length of the Lennon Wall in Prague to see the amazing murals of the late singer and read the messages left by thousands of visitors who have been covering the wall since the early 1980s.
- Carefully look through the many layers of paint covering the Lennon Wall where you can still see the original portrait that gave the wall its name, along with an image of a yellow submarine.
Because the Lennon Wall is located near the iconic Charles Bridge in the city centre of Prague, it is easy to reach using the city’s amazing public transportation. The nearest stop on the city’s Metro is Malostranská Station, from where you can either walk the rest of the way to the Lennon Wall or use one of the many tram lines that stop nearby. Prague is a city best explored on foot as the winding stone streets lead to many historic sights that make people feel as though they are walking through a scene from a fairy tale.
