Kafka Museum hotels
Many exhibits in the Kafka Museum travelled from Barcelona to New York before finding their home in Prague, Kafka’s hometown. The museum houses artefacts from Kafka’s life as well as copies of his works and inimitable souvenirs that famously make for perfect gifts for the literary or even just artistically inclined. Discover what took this young author from the streets of Prague to his deathbed in an Austrian sanatorium while exploring the expansive collections of rare finds displayed throughout this one-of-a-kind facility. The Kafka Museum is well known for converting uninitiated readers into dire fans, and visitors to this destination already familiar with the genius’s work will delight in the museum’s fascinating insights into the writer’s day-to-day life.
- Buy a special copy of a favourite Kafka work or a charming memento from the museum’s uniquely stocked gift shop.
- Explore the life of the native Prague-born author through pictures, letters, and pages from his own diaries, which tell the story of how Prague influenced his life as well as hinting at his mental decline, all within the Existential Space exhibit.
- Enjoy 3-D interpretations of how Kafka viewed Prague at the literary yet interactive Imaginary Topography of Prague exhibit.
Visitors can access the Kafka Museum via widely available trams, buses, or hired cars. Take the metro to Malostranská and head east toward the Vltava River for about 500 metres. The Kafka Musuem, located at Cihelna 2 in Prague, is centrally located and serves as one of the city’s most well-known attractions, so visitors who lose their way can defer to the city’s famously welcoming locals for directions.
