Dancing House hotels
Never failing to shock first-time visitors or veteran admirers, the Dancing House in Prague is a unique piece of architecture that somehow appears to be dancing. The structure that had once stood where the Dancing House now stands was destroyed during bomb raids on the Czech Republic in 1945. The site remained untouched until 1960 when the debris was finally brushed away. However, this important site in Prague continued to remain bare until the ambitious architects Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunic build the Dancing House, intended to celebrate the people and culture of the Czech Republic. Resting before a backdrop of surrounding baroque and gothic architecture, this world-class destination creates a visual effect and all-encompassing milieu that draw back thousands of world-travellers every year.
- Admire the Dancing House amongst the beautiful, but far more traditional buildings spread throughout Prague, a comparison that emphasizes just how unprecedented the structure’s design really is.
- Explore this historic portion of Prague that represents the city’s most harrowing years during the Second World War.
- Enjoy many of the fine eateries surrounding the Dancing House, all of which are located in the heart of downtown.
The Dancing House is easily accessible as it’s located directly in the heart of downtown Prague. Perhaps the easiest way to access the city’s downtown is via Prague Metro, which runs throughout the city. Both the Karlovo Náměstí Metro Station and the Jiráskovo Náměstímore Tram Station lie within walking distance to the house. Travellers hoping to bypass public transit will find plenty of available taxis throughout the city. Due to the difficulty in finding available parking in the downtown area, most visitors staying in one of the many available hotels in this part of town choose to travel on foot.
