Dongcheng is a district of Beijing, China located in the eastern portion of the city. There is no way around the fact that Beijing is a massive, crowded city that sometimes makes getting around a hassle. However, if you avoid driving and instead use the city’s public transport, getting to Dongcheng won’t be too difficult. The easiest way to get there is to take subway line 2 and get off at one of the many stations that service the district. You can also use line 1 or line 5, both of which have stops in Dongcheng. Taxis are plentiful but not cheap and should be avoided during peak traffic times.
