Customer Service is Lacking

We got to the hotel just fine, but finding the parking garage was a whole different story. Not only was the staff unhelpful in locating the garage for us, we were not given clear instructions on how to reach the hotel lobby once parked. The layout is confusing and it took a good 45 minutes just to park and arrive at the front desk. After that fiasco, I was told my reservation was not valid when I had already paid the price in FULL a few months ago. They had my rooms underneath a different name and address - this person received my IHG points which was disspointing to say the least. The staff seemed unsure of how to handle the situation and I was left confused. I also received poor communication around the amenities we were receiving and was not happy after being told I would not get any points for my stay that I also had to pay extra for breakfast which I was told via email was included with my suite purchase. Staff in general seemed very rushed to get us an answer and did not ensure that we understood their explanations. Very poor seeing that it is an INTERCONTIENTAL hotel! I would expect something of lesser value from a local chain, but come on, please understand that we do not speak French!! I will be recommending the Marriott from now on.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

We did the Kava wine tours and the bus picked us up at the Starbucks on the corner which was a very short walk from the Intercontinental. The tour guide was friendly and the tour itself was well worth the high price - very good experience!
