An old building but great staff

The hotel is in a great area, within minutes walking distance to all the major Montréal attractions. The rooms are nice but it's an older hotel so they're a little on the small side. The staff are amazing and make up for anything this hotel may lack.

Simply Excellent

Upon arriving into Montreal it was raining and somewhat cold, and I was very tired after my 10 plus hour trip from New York. However, it was comfortable to know that my hotel was not that far from the Amtrak station. Twenty minutes from my arriving in Montreal I was relaxing in my room on a very comfortable bed while taken in the magnificent view of the downtown Montreal area with Marie-Reine-Du-Monde (Catholic Church) dominating the view. This hotel was a few minutes (walking distance) away from great shopping, excellent restaurants and great attractions. After spending most of my day shopping and walking to the top of Parc Du Mont-Royal, I went back to the hotel to use the gym which featured state of the art equipment. After my workout I relaxed in the Jacuzzi, and sauna. My check out from the hotel and my arrival to Amtrak took me less than 10 minutes, man that was unbelievable. If you are going to Montreal, especially for the first time I highly recommend this hotel. I also like to note that the staff was very courteous.

Good location but a bit tired

Great foyer but the rooms are showing their age. Bathrooms are tiny with insufficient shelving and storage. The only real shelf was skinny and right over the toilet! Metro and interstate train stations are below the hotel which is very convenient. Great concierge, doormen and reception staff. Mixed response from Bell desk staff. One man, Chan, was aloof bordering on rude while others were great and very helpful. Beware, they charge you $2 per bag to store your luggage - first time we had experienced this in our travels around the world. Main restaurant - food is very good but waiters fuss around without giving great service. Too busy running around on a quiet night to deal with basic customer needs (clearing tables, refilling water etc). Look, the place is OK but you would want to get a good room price to make it worthwhile.

Fairmont Queen Elizabeth - enjoyed our stay

Lovely hotel. Loved that it is connected to the VIA station and there is shopping below. Very convenient. And not too far of a walk to Rue St. Catharines if you want some extended shopping. Was a bit annoyed that I had to pay to check my bag ($2 is nominal - so why bother?) and there was a charge to ask for a later checkout. Otherwise staff was friendly and helpful, hotel was clean and comfortable. Would absolutely stay there again.

Decent but expected more.

First, I'll say we received an amazing price through . That being said, based on the hotels's pedigree and original pricing we expected much more in terms of details and cleanliness. It wasn't dirty or or a slum by any means but having stayed in 5 other Montreal hotels over the past three years all cheaper than Queen Elizabeth and many with similar location I went in with realistic ideas of what 4 stars should be. The beds where poorly made with flat sheets that where too short for the mattress, our shampoos where half empty to start and never replaced during a three night stay. Multiple returns to the lobby for quick change and refresher found the lobby water stations to be completely empty. BUT! The location is amazing and at the price we paid and split between two couples I'd probably consider it again unless L'hotel Montreal Lowes became available at a similar price point.

Ideal location to explore downtown Montreal

Although we had to pay up-front, we got a great on-line reservation and discount. The room was well appointed. We stayed in a Gold Suite our last night. Oh my - that was a fantastic treat - we really felt like royalty! The Queen Elizabeth is right downtown, and we walked everywhere - the old city, to see the canal and to the wonderful museums. We were also lucky enough to be in Montreal during the "Jeste por rire/Just for Laughs" festival, so we enjoyed free, outdoor entertainment every night. Our stay at the Queen Elizabeth was truly memorable!

Great Service, great location.

Easy to get to, easy access to trains and subways. Staff readily had answers to questions on hotel, venues, directions, suggestions, etc. Happy to go the extra mile to keep guests happy. Only concern was small bathroom/counterspace in bathroom.
