convenient location

close to College subway station and Yonge street, about 20 minutes walk to Queen's Quay. Furnishing is old but clean and well kept. Kichenette adds convenience to the stay. Reception staff is helpful.

Old, noisy and rusty

This hotel is also used as a student residence, therefore at night, there's a lot of noise and the rooms and not well insulated. We've stayed for 4 nights and we were woke up everynight but our student neighbors. The room was clean but everything inside seemed old (furniture, AC (which was really noisy as well),rust everywhere where rust could be found, etc.). The staff though were really helpful and nice. The area where the hotel is situated was sketchy.

Not as Advertised

This "newly renovated" hotel looked great when we walked in the lobby. But when we got to our room, we were very disappointed. The room was extremely outdated and unclean. We expressed our concerns to the staff, who were unfriendly. Definitely would not stay again.

Worn-out and loud

Let's start with the positive: Size of the room is good (double queen); bathroom size is average. You've got a fridge, microwave, oven, sink etc. in your room. A set of plates and cutlery would be good though. But we didn't ask, I'm sure you can get it. The location is very good! For a sightseeing tour the Primrose is good enough! The main highlights if the town are in walking distance. Staff is nice and helpful. What we didn't like: The AC in the room is extremely loud but it's apparently just making a lot of noise. It's not cooling the room effectively enough. The fan in the bathroom is also anoyingly loud. It's automatically on if you switch the light on. Room and whole hotel are worn-out. The elevators are ridiculously slow. Parking in the hotel is 25 $ per day - and it was full. The positive list seems long enough, but since we value sleeping during vacation a lot, we cannot recommend this hotel. We would rather pay more for a better hotel.

Good location for downtown hotel!

Stayed here during the Civic Long Weekend with a few friends, and the location was only a streetcar or subway away for the action in the entertainment district! It's conveniently located near different types of restaurants and other stores.

Good Value for Money!!

I was in Toronto for business, this hotels high speed wifi was perfect for my internet requirements. Rooms could do with a new look. Furniture/style is old. Comfortable non the less. Elevator does take a while to go up and down, so be ready to wait +- 5 min. Underground parking is always full but theres a safe public parking behind the hotel charging $20 a day. Location is amazing. 1 minute walk from Loblaws and 3 minutes to the metro. Yonge street is just around the corner too. Staff was very friendly. Nice Toronto experience

Dating with my wife

It's good hotel in good location has a lot of bars and restaurants around it and it's walking distance to Eaton Center. But the A/C in the room was not that cool, but as general I am recommending this hotel to ant one need to be closed to city center with good price.

Best value for money in Downtown

The Best Western Primrose is probably the best value for money in downtown Toronto. PRO's: 1. College subway station is less than a 5 minute walk down the road. 2. The Loblaws grocery store is basically across the road and you will also find a LCBO (local liquor store) there. 3. fast internet +-10meg line. 4. Great views from room. CON's 1. Would have loved if there was some proper glasses, plates and cutlery in the room. 2. The Hotel feels a bit old, and it is old. Renovation due. 3. No Complimentary continental breakfast. OVERALL: I stayed there for about 10 days on business with a associate and i would recommend this hotel. Will probably stay there again when I go back to Toronto.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a fantastic out of this world grocery store called Loblaws across the street together with a LCBO (liquor store) I bought fresh fruit and healthy sandwiches there on a daily basis.
