1st time in Vancouver

We had a lovely 4 day stay. Staff at reception were aproachable and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Same with room staff. Great views and a really central location for sightseeing. We walked everywhere! Bed not as comfortable as expected yet perfectly clean

Good but…

The toom was bit small but ok gor 2 people. WiFi works terrible and is almost unusable. Parking is $25 per night wich is bit expensive too. Other than that everything was good. Convinient location, clean rooms and parking is onsite, what else donyou need grom the hotel.

The Sandman

This hotel was a great place to stay during our 4 day stay in vancouver. Great location for both walking to Gastown, Downtown, Waterfront, etc, and for easily getting on public transit. Staff was great, the room was clean, everything worked well. The only thing that was improbable was the slightly slow wifi to the rooms. Otherwise a great stay in a great location!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Most places are easiest to get to by walking (some are listed in review) so save your money and time from buying metro passes and just walk around. There are plenty of places to discover.

Hot small room, unable to connect wifi

if you can stand the heat, air con mal function and a tiny room only to have a shower and a bed to sleep overnight, no need to use wifi in the room then it will suit you need. Location is good.

Very good option in downtown Vancouver

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The room was relatively cheap and the location was excellent. Contrary to other reviews, I had no issues with noise coming from within or outside the hotel. The room was tidy and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The internet did not work at all, as I could not connect to it, but I would say this was the only drawback of my stay.

Great location to Queen Elizabeth Theatre

The location is the best if you are going to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. It is right across the street! Other than that the room was average and clean with a decent city view. It's downtown so it's a bit loud but nothing ear plugs can't handle. The organic bath products were great to see. The restaurant, Moxie's, is very convenient and nicely decorated although the food we had was mediocre. The pool was closed for maintenance which we did not know prior to booking or else we may have chosen a different hotel. I got a good deal online (all in for less than $100) so I was happy with the price. I would stay there again.

Good for the price

A good deal ($159 for 2 nights with two double beds). Room clean and staff courteous and helpful. Plumbing a bit suspect and room could use some maintenance but it was clean. Not a great view but close to everything and for the money good value.

Nice bed, quiet room, good staff

I stayed 6 nights in May of 2012 and found my stay to be quite enjoyable. The bed was very easy to fall asleep on, very little noise coming from within and outside of room. The wifi was VERY slow and somewhat unreliable, but other than that, no complaints. Good housekeeping staff did a great job keeping my room clean and enjoyable. A very good deal for the money. Comparable hotels seemed to be in the $20 to $50 higher priced range. In the heart of downtown, very close to skytrain.
