Unfortunately, this hotel was worse than expected. Travelling without a car meant this hotel was smack dab in the middle of nowhere for us. In addition, the room itself was lack lustre and dirty. I found little hairs all over the bathroom. The tv was small and the wifi was not free ($8.60 a night), which we found extremely odd. Check out was even weirder. We had to wait in a line while the only person at the front desk made us wait as she had to check all the rooms herself before she could let us check out.

Vancouver Beautiful city

The hôtel gives easy access to the whole city. It is very clean and registration at the front desk was fast and the clerk very helpful, since we had a little problem with our reservation. Description of services and actual services were not really has expected or understood. But the clerk bent backward to solve this and we got what we had understood from the description on internet. - Small irritants, were the parking outside the hôtel, under the sign that says they are NOT responsible...so why can't we park safely behind the gate? - The bed is DUE for a change... - The internet access is way too complicated and very very slow! - This is the only hôtel in last 15 or so, that only left one coffee bag. Not important IF the hôtel had a breakfast room, but it hasn't. - Its the only hôtel in the last 15 or so that we stayed on this 14,000km trip that required a $200 deposit, which I still don't know if it was refunded. THIS is a major irritant.

Trade offs

One thing that I hated that I was not told that I had to pay a 120$ security deposit when I got there. I was unprepared for that. The staff was nice. The Asian lady with long hair was amazing and helped with everything we needed. My biggest issue was I had to pay 30$ ontop of the nightly cost because of 3 dirty towels.

A place to stay

While the hotel was in a quiet location it was a long way from the city. Also, there were very few places in the vicinity to eat a meal and the hotel did not have a dining room. The room was comfortable but owing to an inconsiderate guest above us our night was disturbed. We spoke with the night clerk (at 2.00am) who did very littlew to remedy the problem and only after insisting did he agree to move us to another room. The next day we insisted on being moved to another room and suggested that we be given a refund. This was not forth-coming but we were moved to another room. Ovverall we were disappointed in our stay at this hotel.

Cassandra "hotel"

It was awful, no fridge, no microwave, the carpet was so dirty, internet was so old fashioned (you need to get 3 user pass a day), Tea maker just makes the water warm. No breakfast. I will never go back to there again.

Good deal for convenient location and great staff

We planned a last minute trip to Vancouver over Memorial Day weekend. It seemed like a good deal considering the proximity to downtown. I was nervous from reading reviews about the poor conditions of the hotel, but as long as there's no bedbugs or roaches I can deal with an outdated room if it saves me some money. I dont know what kind of miraculous accomadations people expect for $70 a night. The hotel is a 5-10 min walk to the train. Nice, safe working class residential neighborhood with ethnic restaurants nearby. The staff were extremely courteous young people-especially Pearl. When we checked out , one of the girls at the front desk found a phone charger in our room and gave it back to us. Yes, the place is definitely lacking in the housekeeping dept. it really just needs a good vacumming. But coming from a person that is very squeamish about unsanitary living quarters, it's a good deal for travelers that want to be close to the city center but don't want to spend half a paycheck on a weekend trip. It was comfortable enough to spend part of one evening lazying around watching hockey on TV.

There are probably better options.

This hotel has A LOT of potential, it just needs some help. Price was OK, but I had to pay for WIFI. To compete with other hotels, they should offer free WIFI.

Needs a scrub

We stayed at Cassandra 4 nights. The room needs a good scrub. The Bathroom was filthy and I meen things they could clean if they just wanted to. They tend the room only every other day. They did not take out the carbage at one of the times they did. The "fitness room" also couuld use some handling, one of the machines almost broke down as we were using it. The staff was smily and helpful.
