Port Coquitlam hotels
As one of Canada’s favourite regions for exploration, the Pacific province of British Columbia boasts a varied cultural and geographical identity. Peeking out from the east of Vancouver’s metropolitan centre, Coquitlam is an interesting city to explore for its proximity to both urban life and natural retreats. Mostly residential, the town is bedded between the eastern-most reaches of the Vancouver Harbour, and an offshoot of the Fraser River, making Coquitlam a stepping stone to British Columbian nature. The Rocky Mountains, ecological reserves, and countless lakes spring up just to the north, while Vancouver is only a Skytrain ride away.
- Minnekhada Regional Park: Take your outdoor adventure out of Vancouver to the banks of the Pitt River, where marshes and mountains meet and create a bountiful destination for hikers, cyclists, and anyone interested in British Columbia’s wildlife.
- Pinecone Burke Provincial Park: Discover this massive and beautiful park, lying to the northeast of Coquitlam, which encompasses Katzie First Nation territory, Pitt Lake, and Burke Mountain.
- Evergreen Cultural Center: Explore the local arts at this popular Coquitlam venue, which includes exhibitions at the art gallery, many workshops, dance, and theatrical performances.
Scenic Coquitlam is situated in a nest of small towns surrounding the beautiful Pitt River and the eastern inlets of the majestic Vancouver Harbour. The grand Vancouver International Airport is the closest to Coquitlam and has been consistently ranked as one of the best airports in North America to visit. Visitors on a fabulous holiday can easily take the unique Skytrain between the big city and its smaller neighbour. The 997 line will take visitors from the big city through Port Moody, and drop them off at Coquitlam Central Station.
