Cheerful Cambodia

Would definitely recommend this quite classy hotel to you. A US$3 tuk tuk ride to the markets and Pub Street made for a fun trip. Great elephant theme at the hotel and the spa has a large range of pampering products.

GREAT STAY

I found the hotel to be well run with friendly and helpful staff. In particular Ms. Volen was always there with a friendly smile and keen to help. Buffet breakfast was good. The hotel is a little way out of town, but the hotel runs a free bus service every two hours and the location was OK for visiting the temples. Very good swimming pool for relaxing.

Nice hotel with excellent staff

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Angkor. We had a lovely room (with balcony) and were extremely well looked after by the competent staff who all speak excellent English. We were picked up from the airport late at night and were personally welcomed and escorted to our room by the duty manager. We received excellent help to arrange a Tuk-Tuk for a 4:30 pick up to view the sunrise over Angkor Wat (do not expect to be the only one with that idea!) and were given a take-away breakfast. There is a free shuttle service into town. The $18 p.p. diner on offer is an excellent idea. Nothing is too much for the staff and it is all done with a huge, genuine smile.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Do visit Angkor Wat and the other temples a little later in the day, say after lunch. Most of the crowd may have gone back to their hotels. Also, if you plan to visit, do it in the next few years the place is being over-run by tourists, especially those from South Korea and China.

everything you need for a luxury stay

The deluxe pool view room is spacious with the most comfortable bed. The room is finished with wooden floors and furniture and bathroom is devine with a free standing claw foot bath with spa jets. The staff are very friendly and accomodating to every need. The breakfast has a superb choice of fresh food and the restaurant has excellent cuisine at reasonable prices both western and asian. The pool is massive and a great place to relax. I would recommend this quality hotel and would return again. Lies half way between airport and markets and centre of Siem Reap and 15 minutes from Angkor Wat.

fabulous stay!

We had a lovely three nights here- everything was perfect! Staff exceptionally kind and always smiling, beautiful resort, fantastic breakfast. Only drawback was that you were a bit of a ways from the town centre, and though they have a shuttle service it doesn't run in the evening to take advantage of the night markets. Tuk tuk only costs about three or four dollars from the town, but it's just a hassle to have to negotiate.

Wonderful stay in Siem Reap

My husband and I spent a week at the Royal Angkor resort and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. The staff are a delight; they're helpful and thoughtful and knowledgeable about their hotel and the surrounding area.....it seemed like nothing was too much trouble. The hotel facilities suited us perfectly, the pool area was a real pleasure and the lobby restaurant menu never failed to please - we had one meal each day here and enjoyed switching between local Cambodian dishes and their Western selection...the side serving of bread rolls are delicious!! The location while not particularly walkable to/from town benefited from not being in the centre as it provided a haven of calm to return to each day. Overall the hotel was, for us, superb with their customer care second to none we've encountered in a long time.....we hope to return in the near future and would happily recommend it to others.

Head to the museum ahead of your trip around the Angkor temples if you have time - it helps make so much more sense of what you're hearing when you're listening to your tour guide if you do.

very good hotel, at a great price

Excellent facilities, and very attentive staff. Pool is huge and breakfast was outstanding. A little far from the main city, but only a $3 tuk til ride away, and a free hotel shuttle every 2 hours.
