Sisi Museum hotels
History-lovers will enjoy a holiday to Vienna, Austria’s scenic and culturally rich capital city. There are so many beautiful and interesting places to see here, it may be hard to choose which ones to visit. The Sisi Museum is certainly worth visiting for a day—it features a collection of more than 300 items which tell the life story of Elisabeth (1837-1898), Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, who was known affectionately as “Sisi”. Viewing these artefacts helps to paint a clearer picture of who this somewhat mysterious noblewoman was and gives visitors an appreciation for this historical time period.
- Book a private tour at the Sisi Museum which not only includes this collection, but also allows guests to view Vienna's stately Hofburg Palace and its fine furnishings.
- Families with kids visiting Vienna can take part in the interactive SchlossSchönbrunn Experience at the attached children's museum, where they can imagine the life of an Imperial child for a few hours.
- Before leaving, browse through the “Sisi Shop” and look for a unique souvenir you can purchase to remind you of this interesting and historical visit.
The Sisi Museum is located in Vienna’s Hofburg Palace, which is very accessible by several modes of transportation. If you have rented a vehicle, you will need to go into the city centre following one of the A1, 2, or 4 roads and then look for the Opera and turn onto the Ring, and look for the palace. The U3 orange underground train route also takes passengers to Hofburg, it will be necessary to get off at Herrengasse station. Taking the bus is another option, with routes 2A and 3A dropping off riders right at the attraction itself.
