The Riesenrad is a Ferris wheel located in Vienna. It adorns the entrance of the Prater amusement park located in Leopoldstadt in the capital city of Austria. The 64.75 meter tall giant wheel has come to acquire iconic stature in the city and is a major tourist attraction of the place. It was built in 1897 by the British engineer, Walter Bassett Bassett, to commemorate the golden jubilee of King Franz Josef I. It was the tallest Ferris wheel for several years and featured in many movies including the James Bond film, The Living Daylights.
- Get a thrill of a ride at the Riesenrad Ferris Wheel whose gondola takes you high up in the sky for a gut-wrenching ride.
- Admire the views from The Riesenrad ride, which offers spectacular views of Vienna below and from a very different angle than that you may have seen, with wonderful photography opportunities.
- At the entrance to the historical exhibition you get a glimpse into the history of the Ferris wheel in Vienna at a small display and can have your snaps taken before boarding, which are photoshopped so that you have a wonderful souvenir.
