Located on the Rainbow Coast, Albany has a Mediterranean climate that produces mild summers and cold winters. Here, sun and rain mix to create rainbows in the sky on a daily basis; average annual rainfall is around 37 inches (940 mm), with July being the wettest month of the year. The average daily temperature during the summer months of January through March is 73°F (23°C).
Getting There & Around
From the city of Perth, visitors can drive the Albany Highway in about four hours or land directly at the Albany Airport. Located just north of the city, the airport offers ground transportation through bus services.In the city, getting around is done mostly by walking or cycling. Hired cars are available as well to help visitors reach nearby towns. It is important to note that Western Australia is somewhat remote and only experienced drivers should attempt far distances.
