St. Patrick’s Cathedral is one of the finest churches in all of Australia. Its Gothic Revival architecture and outstanding acoustics make it the pride of Melbourne. Visitors appreciate the impressive floor mosaics, spires, and gargoyles seen throughout the grand cathedral. Take the time to stop and view the breathtaking windows through the chapels with elaborate pictures in vivid coloured detail that tell the story of the religious beliefs of the parishioners of the St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
- Take part in “The Way of the Cross” on Good Friday, an unforgettable walk that navigates through the city of Melbourne to follow 14 remarkable sculptures that tell the story of the journey from The Last Supper to the Cross with two of the sculptures ending at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
- Walk though one or more of the seven chapels and be touched and inspired by the history and beauty of each one.
- Visit St. Patrick’s Pilgrim Path in Melbourne, an architectural wonder for a period of quiet reflection amidst moving inscriptions, magnificent sculptures, and serene landscaping.
