Federation Square hotels
Federation Square is a huge cultural centre in Melbourne that houses a selection of galleries, shops and exhibition spaces where visitors may browse fine art or learn to make or improve their own art. The Atrium is the core of the complex where the largest galleries reside. This is also where one can find the Kirra Galleries, which serve as showcases and shops displaying a beautiful selection of unique sculptures, brilliant glass art, and breathtaking hand-made jewellery. The Federation Square Atrium also contains spaces set aside for community events, festivities, and special exhibitions like wine or international cuisine showcases.
- View some of the most cutting edge work by local artists at the No Vacancy Project Space, an immense rotating exhibition featuring the hottest street art in Melbourne.
- Enjoy classic Australian films, make your own cinematic masterpiece, and partake in live forum discussions and exclusive film screenings at the Australian Centre for Moving Images, Melbourne's homage to artistry in motion via film, television, and digital media.
- Browse illuminating exhibits of Australian art ranging from Aborigine, early colonial and Heidelberg School pieces to modern and contemporary art, and fashion design in the Ian Potter Centre at Federation Square.
The Melbourne airport is 22 kilometres from Federation Square, and airport transportation options include the very affordable Skybus express shuttle and pricier taxis. Rail travellers arrive at the Southern Cross Station, which serves Sydney, Adelaide, and several other towns in Victoria. Drivers will use National Route 1 from Sydney, which is a ten to eleven hour trip. Alternatively, there are long-distance coach buses from Devonport and Tasmania as well. Victoria Public transport operates state buses, trains, and trams within the city, but there are also numerous lovely bike trails throughout the area.
