Lovely relaxing break

We had a lovely 3 nights. We stayed in the Otway building and the ONLY thing I would change would be to be ground floor, facing onto the lawn so the kids could play where we could see them. The room was great, as was the pool. We loved the idea of having hot soup at reception, especially given the weather has turned cold. Cheers

right on the beach

Location attention to detail and staff and guest areas was perfect. Pillows were a little varied one too hard another very lumpy. Shower over bath was very hard to get into as bath was high and had a contoured bottom an older person would have trouble. Breakfast was really good with lots of variety.

Noisy industrial fans

Location, great, amenities, great. We stayed in a Heritage room, some face out, which i think would be nice, ours unfortunately faced to an inside courtyard,no view, full of industrial fans, extractors, and air con units, very noisy all night . The choice at night was to close window, quieter and stuffy, no air con, or open and put up with the noise. We had one night, i would have to leave if we had booked more than one night. i would stay again , but only if i got a sea view room.

Nice family get away

Perfect location to beach shops and restaurants. Hotel was good spacious rooms stayed in a two bedroom and was great. The room was not very clean though. Had a baby crawling around and had to keep the baby off the floors as poot bubs knees and hands were black just from crawling even on the first day we checked in you could see how dirty the floors and tables were. Staff at reception were not the most polite. I'm sure not all are grumpy but the one we got wasnt very nice. Over all its a lovely hotel woudl maybe consider staying here again but deffinetly not in any hurry.

3 night stay May 2013

Our stay during the Great Ocean Road running festival was an enjoyable experience, the staff & the Hotel were friendly & informative. The location was excellent with a short stroll of 100m to the beach or 200m to the main street. The facilities available included an onsite restaurant & bar or if you preffered you could get room service. The indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis courts & golf chipping green onsite were all well maintained. The information centre for Lorne was within 300m of the motel & it was well stocked with brochures & maps of the local area & included details of local restaurants, picnic areas , bushwalking tracks & places of interest. One thing lacking in the area was regular Public Transport from town to town so you need to bring transport with you otherwise you might limit your experience.

perfect for rest and relaxing

We had an apartment which meant loads of room. I could sit in bed and watch the surfers we were so close to the beach, despite the trees blocking much of the view. Our daughter had the apt next door and loved it,again with a splendid view. However the first room she was given was miles away from beach though it said ocean view and it was stuffy and old, so ensure you get what you pay for. Husband loved the gym, lap pool, sauna and spa though complained cos all the jets werent working. Also daughters room the heater didnt work. I would definitely go there again if I could get the ocean view room. A wonderful break.

Not the best!

Not a great start, went to check-in at 1pm and they stated they had a busy morning couldn't check-in until 2pm. The rooms and the corridors are very grubby, not cleaned very well. No information in the room regarding things to do in Lorne, menus for restaturants, not even a tv guide to see what movies were on. Very overpriced for what you get. Only good thing was the buffet breakfast.
