Attractive Apollo Bay

Roll out your white shoes and bowling hat – we’re taking the slow lane in picturesque Apollo Bay. Attracting thousands of holidaymakers (of all ages) each year, Apollo Bay manages to retain the old-world charm that keeps people coming back time and time again.

Set along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, this is coastal Australia at its finest, offering rainforests, bays and a great stretch of coastline for surfing and paragliding. Visit Triplet Falls and try the Great Ocean Walkbefore exploring the Bass Strait Shell Museum and the Old Cable Station Museumfor a look at the town’s history. You won’t know what you’re missing unless you take the time to really relax in Apollo Bay. And don’t worry, there’s a pub per person and the drinks are at genuine 1950s prices!

10. Lasseters Casino If you’re missing the city a bit, this is closest you’ll come to reliving it!

5. Cape Otway Lightstation Australia’s oldest lighthouse also offers great koala-spotting opportunities.

9. Otway Fly Tree Top Walk Eat your heart out, Tarzan; now we can all see the forests from a great height!

October brings The Birregurra Weekend Festival, which packs a punch with gourmet food and wine, agriculture, entertainment, children’s activities, stunning art and unique market stalls.

· Spring and autumn are mild and hover around 25°C (77°F).
