Ulverstone is easily reached by car on the Bass Highway. The closest regional airport is in Devonport, and the nearest international airport is in Hobart. There is also a ferry terminal in Devonport with ferries to the mainland.
There is daily bus service from Devonport, and local taxis are readily available, but the best way to get around the area is by rental car.
