Beautiful estate

We enjoyed the estate, the grounds are beautiful as are the rooms.. We stayed in the superior room which was spacious and beautifully appointed. There are bikes to hire for free, dvds, books and 2 beautiful sitting rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the cost to dine on the estate was very pricey - worth the drive into Launceston to eat.

A shame we could not have stayed longer

We were flying back to the mainland the following morning so did not unfortunately have the time to further explore all that Quamby had to offer. We arrived in the early evening and were pleasantly greeted and shown to our room before dinner. The lavishly decorated sitting rooms instantly transported us back to a bygone era and we enjoyed reading the property's rich history in the library. Our meal was superb and breakfast more than met our expectations. Departing early did have its advantages as well though as we were able to enjoy the a beautiful sun rise over the property. Will be back for sure!

Lovely surroundings but extras too expensive!

Lovely property and reasonable room tarriff but think we had the smallest room. Room was clean and bed was ok (but a bit firm) But, no tea and coffee making facilities and was $4 per cup to buy some! Ensuite was cramped and design meant no privacy for using toilet. Evening meal was $60 each for 2 courses, didn't eat there.. hate to imagine price of drinks! Included continental breakfast which made room good value. Would have rated higher if could make a drink in room and say $40 each for 2 courses.

beautiful homestead

Loved our stay at Quamby, so relaxing and lots to do. Beautiful gardens and grounds. The staff were fantastic and so welcoming. Breakfast was alright, just the standard run of the mill continental breakfast. Received a free room upgrade upon check in without even asking, room was cosy with a huge bathroom and good facilities, good selection of tea and coffee in the room. Would definitely go back!
