A quick city stop

This was my first stay in this hotel - it is a heritage building and this is reflected in the decor! We paid extra for car parking which was in a car park away from the hotel - it was a bit of a hassle after hours. Enjoyed a drink in the bar after our evening out.

Ms

I would recommend Hadleys for its location. I it right in the centre of the CBD therefore making it walking distance to Salamanca Markets, Art Centres and general shopping area. The dinning menu needs reviewing as it is very basic. All the staff were curtious and helpful. The lift was extremely slow considering on 4 levels and the wheelchair excess needs improving.

A great central spot

The Hadley is a grand old hotel located bang in the centre of Hobart, directly opposite the Anglican Cathedral and only a couple of minutes to the waterfront, Salamanca Place, cinemas, restaurants & the shopping centre. We had a suite, which was better than what we expected - 2 separate bedrooms of a large size + a large lounge/dining & bathroom. We were impressed with the staff, especially a couple of young guys on the desk. They were friendly, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Car parking is available for $15/night at a nearby carpark, with 24hour access. The brochure from Hadleys explaining access was excellent. The lift was a bit slow and creaky, but not an issue. The hotel restaurant has a good range, is open 4-9pm, so it suits travellers coming & going at odd hours, and it was very reasonable in price. We ate there one night and thoroughly enjoyed our food.

Sapa Rose Vietnamese restaurant was a great find. Just around the corner from the Hotel, it is 1/2 way between the hotel & Village Cinemas, and we ate there on our way home from a movie.

A very comfortable hotel

The owners have done an extremely good job refurbishing Hadley's. The rooms are very comfortable and spotless. I was fortunate to have a corner room, which is larger than others and has two windows. The staff are friendly, helpful and make guests feel at home. This obviously reflects the culture established by management. I'll be back.

Central and convenient. Affordable

Walking distance to the MONA ferry, Salamanca, restaurants, shops and other tourist venues. The family room we booked was very spacious and beds were very comfortable. Whilst the hotel is ready for some updating, it retains some of it's 19th and early 20th century splendour and still has a lovely ambiance. I was pleasantly surprised by music from the grand piano in the lobby while enjoying an after dinner coffee.

Excellent service.

I was going to Melbourne from Perth and hadn't been to Hobart for about 32 years so decided to go down for a couple of days. Booked Hadleys as seemed to be in a good location as I was traveling on my own...friends who live in Melbourne hesitant but I couldn't have been more pleased. Great location, walk down the hill to Salamanca and ferry across to Mona... Fabulous people who work there. Maybe at my age (64) I'm a bit over "generic" hotels, but I delight in staying at hotels that actually treat you like a person and not a dollar. Would definitely stay again.

My stay at Hadleys

Only spent one night in Hobart but found the hotel a great spot to stay. Very well located and a beautiful old building & hellpful staff. The basic double room is a bit too basic but is good value if you are on a budget. Location is very good for central Hobart.
