Dining

Restaurant Tasman
At 'Restaurant Tasman' locally grown seasonal produce is the foundation for our menu choice. For those who appreciate quality, 'Restaurant Tasman' captures the very best this island state has to offer matching it with ingredients from the rest of Australia and indeed the world. Within a few kilometres from this very spot you can visit the farmers who are passionate about their merchandise and we aim to showcase their produce from traditional to modern savoured dishes at 'Restaurant Tasman'. Located on the lobby level of the hotel.
The Atrium Bar
A great venue to meet for a drink or afternoon tea. Located overlooking Sullivan's Cove waterfront, the glass curtain walls and ceiling provide for excellent views and a light and sunny atmosphere. The venue provide morning and after tea the old fashioned way and also light lunch's and drinks. This is also a great place to meet for a drink and take in the atmosphere of the water front. Located on the lobby level of the hotel.

A nice place for a quick getaway

Hi, My family and I stayed at the GC for 2 nights and really enjoyed our overall stay. Pros: Location, Cleanliness, Beautiful Harbour Views Cons: Quite noisy external surrounds (on weekends), Extra charges for Room service delivery, too much chlorine in the swimming pool, limited car parking spots and the exterior bricks of the hotel could do well with a refurbishment. Would rate it 3 out of 5. Thanks. Trevor

Lovely hotel, fabulous location, wonderful staff. Wi-Fi is not free as such. They only give you 500mb before you have to pay. A little poor considering most places you go into these days give it to you free.

Poor lighting in room

I like this hotel and find the rooms comfortable apart from the lighting. I was on a business trip so wanted to work in the early mornings and evenings. The main lights are not bright enough and the light on the table not bright enough either. Everything else was great.

Excellent location to restaurants and shops

+ Allowed us to check in early, within walking distance to many restaurants and market. - Room service wanted to clean room early, hotel car park had limited spaces and no bottle cap opener in room.

Quiet place, easy access to waterfront

Just opposite a seafood restaurant. Too bad our room only look over a traffic junction instead of the harbour front. Overall a very nice hotel to stay at.

Awesome family break

I recently stayed at the Grand Chancellor. The location is perfect. Close to the City, Salamanca and of course the Harbor views are fantastic. Walking distance to all. I fully recommend that you stay in one of the rooms that has a Harbor Room View. The staff were helpful and professional. The only thing missing was if they could supply bath robes and slippers.

Great location!

We booked the harbour view room with breakfast buffet included and were excited to see we were given a room on level 10, until we realised that level 10 is actually the first floor of rooms! Our view was affected by an awning of the hotel and we asked to be moved, but according to the guy downstairs we could only be moved one floor higher (despite us paying for a better room! he suggested if we wanted something more we could pay $35/night but we politely declined). This was a better view though and the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the room was very clean. Breakfast was enjoyable as well. And the location was just perfect!

Relaxing Trip with my husband

The hotel more than reached expectations. We have stayed in the GC chain many times elsewhere and it did not disappoint. The location was fantastic and staff very helpful. I found the bed a bit hard but that's my taste. Breakfast was lovely and the freshly made juices were a nice touch. Pity there is no lift from the car park!
