Fantastic Easter Holiday

The most friendly service from all hotel staff that i have been received. The hotel location cannot be better. Food was ok. The room charge was overpriced.

fantastic family getaway

We stayed at Penthouse which was very modern and new, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms!! Master bathroom had a spa bath tub which both my parents enjoyed so much after dinner! the kitchen is clean and modern, both rooms had great ocean views. Everything in this penthouse was perfect setting for family stay. There was even a really nice cafe with great view in the hotel, and a supermarket close by, it is so convininent :) I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who's going Kangaroo Island.

Extremely bad reception services

When I booked the hotel, on the decription of the room I chose which indicated that it included bath, Queen or King bed, seaview. When I check, they gave me a different which they thought was a better one, but it didn't have a bath, with two single beds and on the ground floor which limited seaview. I told the reception I was not happy with that arrangement, but the only answer was" unforturnately, you have to take this room, because we are fully booked". I am a consumer and i paid for something that not I asked for, is it fair. The reception just keep saying i had to take that arrangement even I am not happy with this. Finally, it took me nearly 2 hours, then they can arrange the room that I booked online. I think this was a bad customer service.

overpriced for basic accommodation

Reception staff were not very helpful and not customer focused. Restaurant staff were very friendly. The pelican feeding nearby was a great experience.

Could be better

With a 2 1/2 hour time difference, and only 2 night at KI, I was woken by the sound of drilling outside my bedroom window at 7:30 am, and had to skirt around building materials to leave my poolside room. While I was offered alternative accommodation, it involved now needing a roller bed, which came out of the arc. I was advised that I had 2 choices, either go back to the room undergoing renovations, or pay to have a second room. Neither option was acceptable.

The best choice if you arriving

The best choice if you arriving the island by plane late in the afternoon. Great location and very good restaurant. I think is overpriced because the hotel rooms are a little bite old, but everywhere is overprice in Kangaroo Island.

Way over-priced for the standard

Way over-priced for the standard offered. The hotel has the feel of standard accommodation in the Eastern Europe bloc of yore. Or worse, of accommodation in one of England's more down-market seaside resorts! The restaurant has the feel of a school canteen. The sauna was not working. The bedroom, while clean and comfortable, had paper-thin walls and a coughing, spluttering, hawking man in the room next door kept me awake most of the two nights I was there. As in the rest of Australia, there was no regard for the single traveller: you havev to pay for two people regardless. And in the case this hotel (booked on line) I would not have thought it was value for money even if there had been two of us.

We stayed in one of the rooms

We stayed in one of the rooms above the bistro area (standard double room). The room was clean but the facilities in the room were a bit too old fashion. There was no bathtub and the bathroom was very very small. It was very convenient location. The more upmarket rooms across the road from where we stayed (which is still part of Ozone) looked very new and fabulous ...we wished we stayed there instead..but overall the hotel wasn't bad. The staff were very friendly.

I would recommend this hotel to

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kingscote. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location on the seafront is ideal for the lovely scenery and handy for the local shops. We ate in the hotels Sports Bar and enjoyed a very nice meal. We were upgraded to the newer part of the hotel and these rooms were excellent, we even had a sea view which was nice.
