Great location to Adelaide oval

Great locate & close to Adelaide oval. We travelled with 3 kids but were given a room with 2 double beds. I had requested a fold away bed but had to ask for it once we arrived. Parking was pretty tight we have a 4WD.

Terrible family trip

Room was visibly dirty and had signs of needing maintenance from previous damage. The pool was not available due to maintenance however they failed to inform us that there was an issue. Staff were not helpful when we voiced our grievances. Not a four star apartment nor 4 star service.

Xmas Getaway

The perfect place to start our Xmas Getaway. The one bedroom apartments are just the thing for an enjoyable stay. Plenty of room to move around, comfortable couch (which is not always the case in a lot of other places that we have stayed in). Just across the road from the tram stop which takes you to Glenelg for a very relaxing day by the water. Carparking onsite is a bonus as you can go directly up to your floor with your luggage. Staff always friendly of a morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Good first impression !

This is the very first time I visit Adelaide, Xmas season. Oak Horizon Apt has been very ideal. It is located on North Terrace, Cultural precint of Adelaide. Right opposite Convention Centre, not far from Intercontinental Hotel, free tram is 300metres away, King William Road is 500 metres walk, Rundle Mall is about 1 km walk, train station is across the road, so is Adelaide Casino, a short jog away is the Adelaide Oval. All very convenient. Many nice restaurants nearby. It has good insulation that once the glass door is closed, can't hear the streets and traffic or the tram. A 1 bedroom apartment, very spacious, even with 3 adults. Balcony view is not fantastic though. Bathroom gets wet when shower, dishwasher diesn't really wash the dishes. Washing machine with dryer function is good. If I can get the same price, it is value for money.

Perfect location for Festival Theatre concert

Main issues arrived at hotel found out that my booking had not been processed properly. So no room under my booking name or ref number. Had to wait for 30 min until issues resolved. The two bedroom deluxe apartment looked very tried; walls could do with some repairs and tiles in bathroom & also toilet (flush system did not work well), room had not been cleaned properly, floors still dirty, kitchen area not properly washed down. Given the room was booked for 5 people they did not have amenities for 5 people. Kitchen utensils very basic for self catering & cooking. I have stayed there on 3 previous occasions and rooms have been clean and not so run down; was disappointed this time.Location perfect for concert at Festival Theatre & views over city. Pool area good.

excellent base for visit to Adelaide

We were visiting Adelaide for an International Rotary event. The apartment was perfectly located with easy access to all of the venues used. Tram at the doorstep - Glenelg an east ride away. Staff very obliging. Taxis easy to book . Apartment was clean and well maintained and contained all amenities we required for our 7 day stay

Could have been great, but...

The Oaks could very easily have got five stars, but for a series of minor (and not-so-minor) irritations. First the good: Location is as good as anything in Adelaide. Directly opposite the convention centre, just down from the casino, public transport at the door, shops and restaurants nearby. The suite was very well equipped including full kitchen (with hotplate and oven), washing machine / dryer etc. All quite adequate and comfortable if not quite luxurious. On the down side - check-in was efficient but with no warmth or friendliness. It was a case of "fill out the form and give me your credit card". The usual credit card impression wasn't to cover incidentals, as is usually the case, but for a BOND. This is the first time I have EVER heard that term used when checking into a hotel. It immediately set up a negative impression. The swipe card readers in the lifts were erratic, requiring multiple insertions to get the system to respond. Minor but annoying and time-wasting. The lifts also had posters trumpeting the fact that we could get 30 minutes free wifi- well whoopty-do! When crummy little motels in the back blocks provide free unlimited wifi it's time the city properties got with the program. The air conditioning was quite poor - it ranged between stifling hot and freezing cold, but at all times being stuffy, with no fresh air. Only by leaving the balcony doors open could we get fresh air. However the site was extremely noisy - both traffic and construction, but also the huge ventilators on the roof of the convention centre created a constant din. We paid extra for a river-view suite and expected a view of a river. Not so - there was what might be called a glimpse of a tiny bit of the river between the buildings opposite, but no way could it be called a river view. The bathroom was poorly designed. The basin was too shallow to be used effectively and the tap kept shutting itself off The bath itself was supposed to be a "spa" but the few nozzles were all clustered the drain end (which was also where the tap was). It's not actually feasible to use this tub as a spa. And the shower rose sprayed thin streams of water in all directions, including all over the floor. So a lot of little annoyances added up to a less than satisfactory experience. Nothing really dreadful, but enough that we wouldn't choose this property in future.
