Lovely staff

The resort staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean (daiquiri#4103). Beds were on the comfortable side (if you avoid a dip in the middle). Pillows were of good quality. Our kids slept well on the sofa bed. The bathroom was also spacious, including a washer/dryer (we were told not all rooms contain laundry facilities). The kitchen, more of a kitchenette was below par. The water tap was in a position so it splashed on the cabinet causing water damage. The plates/utensils were not clean, there were crumbs in the utensil drawer. The coffee/tea cups had coffee rings (not just stains). There was no dishwasher so we purchased disposable plates/cups/utensils. The idea of having to wash dishes (when we don't at home) on vacation is not appealing! The pool was great for our family (9 & 6 year olds). However the pool bar location was not ideal, it was on the kiddie pool side but far from the majority of the pool lounges-not a deal breaker. The gym equipment was of great quality, however the poor ventilation/cooling system was a big negative. Jeremy was always genuinely welcoming. Overall the staff were very accommodating and helpful. There was no toaster in our kitchenette, it arrived minutes after we requested it. When the washing machine was not functioning it was repaired that afternoon, thanks Troy!

House keeping is non existant

The hotel is ok, breakfast was a nightmre-only 1 chef but half a dozen waitresses who kept clearing our table when we were lined up for food. Housekeeping barely did anything but make the bed You have to walk around to find your room with a map they give you (like going to the zoo). There is no lift access to the rooms and the walkways from the carpark are uncovered so prepared to get drenched if it rains. The cocktails have hardly any alcohol in them too Airconditioning is good though and the beds are comfy-the rooms are also a decent size. But the service is lacking throughout

Great Weekend away

My wife and I spent the weekend at Port Douglas and stayed at the QT there. The hotel itself is very beautiful. The concept behind it's presentation is very well tailored to the younger guest. The restaurant and bar area would be great for Sunday sessions. The pool also has a swim up bar which also adds to the appeal. The only pitfalls were our shower leaked pretty severely even to the point it came out of the bathroom into the hallway. There was also no in room movies which isn't the end of the world but my wife being pregnant was wanting to lounge and watch a movie by the end of the day. We will definitely stay there again.

Cool Easter break

We loved the personality and style of the QT, both the facilities and the staff running the resort. The staff were great and accommodated us with a slightly earlier check in which made things much easier for us. The restaurants and bars were fantastic, with reasonably priced food. One thing that would make this fantastic is more staff at the bars, we waited for at least 20 mins at both bars for our drinks and one evening there was a wait of over 1 hour for pizza. The room servicing needs to be better - we were out of our room for five hours during the day and still didn't get our room serviced during two days of our stay. It would be much better if you could have a window for servicing and so that you don't miss out on servicing when you take a nap.

We really enjoyed our stay at QT Port Douglas, our room and the facilities in our room were beautiful. The restaurants were both fantastic, although different, and the main pool was special. Would love to go back.

Great rooms, friendly staff, delicious breakfast.

We had Villa rooms, very spacious, beautiful rooms. Breakfast was exceptional value and delicious, the chef cooked an omelette to your liking. Checking in, checking out was a dream, all the staff were really friendly and professional. It truly is a tropical oasis. Will definitely stay again!

Great stay

We enjoyed our stay at QT Port Douglas. Our 1 bedroom apartment was well equiped with all you needed for a great stay, clean and very comfortable with a spa bath. The pool area is beautiful. We enjoyed meals at both restaurants and the staff were always helpful and friendly. . A special mention to Jeremy in the gym and Mimi - our French waitress. We enoyed our games of tennis and table tennis too.

Great deal on excellent accommodation

We stayed in a one bedroom garden view apartment which overlooked a beautiful pond of water lilies. The apartment was at the quiet end of the resort away from the pool and restaurants, but still only a short walk to all facilities. Lovely pool and surrounds, also a lap pool and tennis courts. Staff were friendly and we received a bottle of champagne on arrival with comps of management. The resort is about a 10 minute walk from the 4 mile beach, across the hwy and down a bush track. I would definitely stay again, the accommodation was huge, clean and a pleasant environment. Kitchen facilities are limited, no gourmet meals cooked here.
