What travelers to Magnetic Island are saying

Absolutely awesome experience. Take the time to see all the bay's. And get some local knowledge of areas to go. Highly recommend the island to anybody wanting to relax and unwind. There is some much to do there from reef trips to horse riding....

Not a blissful place. Beaches are terrible. Fun, super friendly, remote island. No need to stay for more than two days.

Magnetic Island Hotels are as alluring and compelling as the island itself is. The unique name comes from the fact that when Captain Cook sailed nearby in the late 1700’s, his ship’s compass went somewhat awry and that phenomena was attributed to a strange magnetic field. You will find magnetism today in this atoll’s profusion of natural beauty and opportunities for outdoor adventure. Beaches, forests and unique experience await you on Magnetic Island.

Get horizontal to ply the Snorkel Trails off of Magnetic Island. These ocean trails are marked by surface floats that guide you to magnificent underwater corals and creatures. Get cuddly with koalas at Bungalow Bay Koala Village, where you can hold a live koala, and even cradle a small crocodile- if you dare. Learn about local history at the Magnetic Island History and Craft Centre and Museum filled with artefacts and handicrafts.

Book your Magnetic Island accommodation in time for the Annual Great Tropical Jazz Party, and jive and swing to the best musicians around, in a sublime island setting. HotelClub offers member benefits to make your stay even more enjoyable, so what are you waiting for?

International jetsetters entering Queensland through any of the three interational airports Brisbane, Cairns or Gold Coast can hop on a connecting flight to Townsville Airport, located on the mainland. From there you can take a car or pedestrian ferry to Magnetic Island. The Island is a great place to see on a bicycle or on foot. For longer distances there are taxicabs or rental cars. There is so much to enjoy on Magnetic Island and you are sure to find it will have a hold on you long after your holiday!
