Daintree Rainforest hotels
Cairns, Australia, is home to the beautiful Daintree Rainforest. This ecological wonder is located north of Cairns on the northeast coast of Queensland, Australia, and it is known as the largest continuous tropical rainforest in all of Australia. The Daintree Rainforest has been recognized as a Wet Tropics World Heritage Site because it hosts the largest number of rare or endangered plants and animals than anywhere else in the world, and has 65% of Australia’s butterfly and bat species. Every year, many people flock to this rainforest because of its awe-inspiring beauty and remote wilderness.
- Go on one of the many hiking and walking trails that dot the Daintree Rainforest and experience the beauty of Cairns biggest ecological wonders.
- Rest easy on the golden beaches of the Daintree Rainforest and lookout on the calm and crystal clear water, undisturbed by a single soul.
- Leave Cairns and go on a Daintree Safari that leads the true adventurer through the raw and rugged natural wonder where you will be able to swim in the rivers, hold a python, learn about the rare vegetation, and maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of the elusive White Kangaroo.
The Daintree Rainforest is approximately 110 kilometres north of Cairns, immediately across the Daintree River. If you’re coming from the south from Cairns, take the vehicular ferry (the ride should take about two and a half hours); the ferry ride will then take you to Daintree Rainforest Coast where you will then drive on one of the most scenic routes in the world. Just be wary of wildlife that has a tendency to dart across the road at a moment’s notice. If you don’t have a car, consider Sun Palm Transport, which makes regular stops at the Cairns Airport.
