Beautiful Bundaberg

Known as the Southern gateway to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Bundaberg offers a wide range of travellers’ amenities, including many excellent Bundaberg hotels. When you’re not off discovering the charms of the nearby ocean, you can visit the town distillery, its ginger beer brewery, and memorial museum.

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the Natural Wonders of the World, and you’ll see why it earns that title when you take a snorkel tour of this magnificent marine formation. Swim with neon-bright fishes, slinky eels and shockingly orange starfish. Marvel at the seemingly endless colours of coral, and state in awesome wonder at giant clams and parrotfish. Book now with HotelClub to enjoy our exclusive offers for our members. Membership is free, so booking your perfect getaway is easier than ever.

Visit Mon Repos and view the marvellous Green, Flatback and Loggerhead sea turtles as they lay their eggs, from which emerge little hatchlings that make their way awkwardly, but determinedly towards the sea. Turtle season here runs from November through February. Make the short, 14 kilometre drive to Mon Repos to watch this incredible natural process! Another famous and ancient vertebrate is the Queensland lung fish whose watery home is the Burnett River.

If you’re flying into Bundaberg, the closest airport is located approximately a four-hour drive north, at Brisbane. You can also take buses, or the Queensland Rail. Many of the area attractions involve tours, with which transport is included; be sure to check in advance. Bundaberg is a wonderful town from which to base your explorations into the vast marine wonderland just off Australia’s East coast, which offers a treasure chest of once in a lifetime experiences.
