Great location, building is a bit old

Great central location with friendly front of house staff. We decided to stay at the Sofitel as we found it on promotion, which we felt was reflected in the room we had. While the room has been renovated / updated and was modern in feel, the bathroom was tired as was the mattress with odd dips in the middle. This was a my first Sofitel experience and while the service was great, I was a little underwhelmed with the stay.

Loved it

We arrived at Central Station from the airport - the convenience is great. Great location, from the moment Mum and I arrived, we were treated extremely well. Breakfast had som many options to choose from. The staff in Cuvee Lounge in particular were helpful and fun to have a chat with. Will stay again.

Night Away

My wife and I had a night away together and I have to say we were very disappointed. For the cost of the room, it was very not very impressive. We ordered room service for dinner and the food was pretty ordinary. Overall we were not satisfied with the hotel itself and did not feel that it was value for money. I have stayed in much better quality hotels for alot less cost. We will not be staying at this hotel chain again.

High expectations

I have previously stayed at Sofitel Brisbane and had high expectations on my return, unfortunately there were a number of things i missed from the other Brisbane hotel i have stayed that I did not get to enjoy at Sofitel. I did however, enjoyed staying for 5 days at Sofitel Philippines tremendously. How I wish I had the same experience, maybe on my return. I travel every fortnight between Sydney and Brisbane.

Stylish and Central Location

Spent 2 nights here in early June, 2012. On arrival I was upgraded to a Luxury Room on 20th floor. The bathroom was in need of an update, but the bed was very comfortable and blackout curtains ensured a great sleep. I had a lovely view over Anzac Square. Everything in the hotel is very expensive - breakfasts and room service. The lobby is very comfortable even though it is always busy. Great easy access to the shops and transport - down 2 escalators and you are in Central Train Station giving easy access to the Airports. I would stay again if I got a special cheap deal.

Comfort and Style

Excellent Location under Central Station, very easy to access lobby up 2 escalators. I booked 2 nts and received a complimentary upgrade from Superior to Luxury Room on arrival. This gave me a huge, quiet nicely decorated room on 20th floor with a lovely view over Anzac Square. The room was well stocked and had a nespresso coffee machine. The bed was so very comfortable and the blackout curtains made the room perfect for sleeping. The toiletries were good quality, though the bath and basin were old which detracted slightly from the total quality feel of the room. Staff were professional, kind and eager to make sure I was well-looked after. I left a $200 cash deposit on arrival as I don't use credit cards, and was told I could not charge things to the room and would need to pay separately in cash for anything within the hotel. I wanted room service, but didn't want the inconvenience of having to pay for each thing, so didn't bother. Not sure why I could not have just booked things to the room and on check-out be refunded any money left from my $200 cash deposit.
