Nice new rooms

We stayed in a newly renovated room which was much nicer than expected. However, there were people smoking on the balcony next to our room (all balconies had ashtrays on them). The cigarette smoke came straight through the air conditioning and into our room with our baby, so we were very unimpressed about this. The bar and bistro was convenient and reasonable value, and the staff were friendly (although very very slow). The pool is definitely the highlight of staying at club croc.

A hotel at the price you pay for..

I stayed at Club Croc for 4 nights, while at Airlie Beach for a community event. Generally found the room ok, although lacking the tidiness and polish that even the basic 3 star rooms have in most places in Australia. The bar and pool facilities are quite nice - although it should be noted that this is the only area in the resort where wifi is available - had to use a significant amount of my data plan while in in my room. Found the room to be noisy - especially on Saturday evening when the bar stayed open late.. The last thing to note is that the hotel is closer to Cannonvale than Airlie Beach, although has a good shopping centre close by. All in all would recommend for a cheap one night stay, or a visit to the pool.. Would be reluctant for a longer term stay, unless you are after a low-cost experience.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Airlie Beach has a number of restaurants if you are ok with a long walk from the hotel. There is a good bus and taxi service too.

False Advertising

Horrible to say the least. I purchased a Deluxe Room, when i got there the room looked nothing like the pictures! I confronted the staff member on duty who then said ''what do you want me to do about it'' in a very rude tone. I want the room pictured!

Great for the young at heart

Reception staff very flat out and cranky - understandable. Room cleaners absolutely wonderful - very cheery and helpful. No cooking facilities - not even a toaster. Rooms very basic, the beds uncomfortable, but apart from all those negatives a great place to meet others young at heart.

Fairly tired, could do with a good make over.

We had initially paid an extra amount to upgrade to a "delux" room. The room we were put in was a shocker. The base was visible on the spare bed and it was filthy, full of holes and looked like it was at least 20 years old. And the mattress on the queen bed felt the same, you could feel every spring. In the end I couldn't handle it and complained. Seems I was put into a standard room, instead of delux and was then given a delux room which was a substancial improvement. The whole place appeared tired and in need of some serious money being speant on it. And the amount of money required to use the laundry was way excessive - $5 just to use the washer, $3 for the dryer and $2 to buy their powder.. Crikey, other places I've stayed it's free! The place was ok though for the rates charged.

Great for somewhere to sleep

Our stay was ordinary.. The rooms were average, and pretty much just a great place to sleep. We were only there to sleep, as we were busy island hopping during the day, so it is definitely great for theses sorts of stays. Breakky was a let down, as they were quiet, so we had a choice of one hot breakfast dish, or cereal. But like i said, ok for a night or two.

I was a little concerned about

I was a little concerned about staying here after reading some other reviews, however we had a group of six people (two rooms) and we all found it to be more than adequate. It was clean and comfortable and the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful with several requests. We also ate at the restaurant a couple of times and found it to be very good and there was also entertainment.

I found the facilities , cleanliness

I found the facilities , cleanliness and the pricing good. But the service I receved on the frount desk was the worst service I have ever recived at a resort , the girls were rude and not very willing to help at all, so much that if i was traveliing to airlie beach again I would not stay at club croc again, the attitudes I encountered on the front desk really had a negative impact on may holiday. But like I said I was happy with everything else it is disappointing that something so simple was your greatest downfall
